This post is not intended to be a research abstract, a review of science, or a breakdown of any hows or whys. It’s just me reporting on my observations from the last couple years regarding the rapid and dramatic weight loss that results from using the hCG protocol. I was initially skeptical about this protocol, but I can now confidently say that the hCG protocol is the only program that is relatively natural and yet consistently aids in the loss of 60-100 pounds of fat in the course of a single year. I have had to eat my words and check my preconceptions on this stuff so many times, I felt it necessary to achieve catharsis through my blog
Real talk right now: As a trainer, I have seen the least success with clients looking for extreme weight loss. These same clients often lack the fortitude required for major transformations, and so the road to weight loss appears daunting, or even impossible. In addition, the first steps on the road tend to lead to results that seem inconsequential. I find myself reverting to a speech that I use when I work with recovering drug addicts: “I know why you came to me, and I cannot help. I cannot want this more than you. In this situation, the brutal truth is that, if you want this bad enough to be successful, then nothing can stop you. And if you do not, then nothing can help you.” In no way am I trying to over-correlate drug addiction and being overweight, but the ethic for success is similar.
So back to the hCG protocol. I am a fan of this option simply because its merits are two-fold. First, the rapid weight loss results translate to a sense of victory that leads to increased dedication to the program and increased motivation to achieve personal goals. Second, the protocol functions as a litmus test that reveals those who have what it takes to accomplish ANYTHING. Someone who can lose 60-100 pounds clearly has the physical, mental, and emotional capacity to accomplish any undertaking imaginable. This kind of stamina is what’s required of the hCG protocol if it’s followed in recommended courses for a year. It calls for a complete overhaul of diet, exercise, and lifestyle—day-in, day-out, Spartan-like rigidity—and it is not easy. And so, when a client comes to me after successfully following the protocol, I know that they are not interested in wasting their time or mine. I then feel more comfortable investing my energy into them.
I am not trying to say that the hCG protocol is perfect. It is extreme, so of course it poses a few risks. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are possible without careful attention. Rapid weight loss can always result in skin elasticity issues that may require surgical repair. Finally, the dramatic nature of the protocol can mask or evolve into an eating disorder. I’m also not trying to say that the hCG protocol is the only way to achieve extreme weight loss. What I am saying is that it is the program from which I’ve witnessed the BEST results. Not only is this one of the ONLY ways that I have seen consistent success for extreme weight loss, it is also one of the only examples where the homeopathic version of something (anything for that matter) showed the same success rate as the pharmacologic version.
