Venice Beach Diary 1/25/2022

In times like these it is good to remember that there have always been times like these.

He’s a vibe

There have always been times like these. We are so prone to ascribing our personal moment in history with unique significance. “These days” this, and “time like” that. It’s horseshit. Just because we share it in 4k now doesn’t mean there is anything new under the sun. Reacting to every possibility leaves us exhausted when we finally face eventuality.

Another sunset.

The beach was dotted from pier to pier today for a magnificent sunset. The surf has been very energetic lately as well. Waves were rolling into the beach so close together they were colliding with their own recoil. When waves collide at just slightly offset angles they send a jet of seafoam blasting to the sky. It would sometimes race by as fast as I could turn my head. I wonder if the phenomenon has a name?

Another sunset. I don’t care! They are beautiful

The days are so peaceful lately. I am grateful for this time. I never had a limit to how fantastic I thought life could be, but I never even new how much I truly desired peace. Doing big fun things is great and all, but have you ever had a weekday free? Have you ever looked at all of the things planned for the next day and been excited for each and every one of them? I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, so I am going to keep it simple and smile at the sunsets.
