First things first John Wick 4 is absolutely amazing.

The second-best part 4 of any franchise in history. I loved every second of it but it did not dethrone Rocky 4.
The cast is second to none and delivers in fine style, but
Chad Stahelski and his team really put together something special here. Shay Hatten, along with co-writer Michael Finch wrote an outstanding continuation of the Wick world. Dan Lausten, the film’s cinematographer was just serving up the pinnacle in fine dining. Super clever camera work and scene after scene of captivating visuals. Go see it. A woman leaving the theater with her family did have a complaint about “all the shooting and killing” so I imagine her family gave her no warning about what they were going to see. It is violent, just like all the others.

There is far too little steampunk aesthetic in the world, unless you are at Universal Studios Citywalk. Then there is a little slice of heaven. The gift shop is stocked with really bad ass stuff and the food looks amazing (have not tried yet). The staff is all in costume and character and the inside is just as cool as the out. This isn’t really a review, I just love it.

Today was the first day in memory there was no flood warning. It has been pretty miserable the last few months but today was a beautiful, albeit windy as shit. In honor of all the Californians comforting themselves saying “we needed the rain” as a healing ointment for the windburn and wet socks, here is the song of the day.

About 2400 years ago there was an absolute meme machine they called The Laughing Philosopher. I’m serious. Every portrait of this guy is stellar

His name was Democritus and there is a solid argument he is history’s best guesser.
Here he is again.

Back in between what can only be assumed to be some kind of hallucinogenic experiences this guy guessed that space and time were made of teeny tiny things called atoms and everything was made of them. 2000 years before the microscope was invented. It was a guess. It’s unclear if he was the first to articulate this guess, but he did articulate it. Atoms get their name from this dude’s blindfolded hail mary.
An experiment was recently conducted on an Artificial Intelligence chatbot where they asked it to do something and gave it money to do it. The A.I. used the money to hire someone on TaskRabbit to get passed the “are you a computer” test. The person even made a joke asking “you’re not a robot are you?” and THE ROBOT said, “no, I am visually impaired”.
Good night.
